Sabine Pass, Texas — The Texas Department of Public Safety has confirmed the identities of four people who tragically lost their lives in a serious crash on Highway 87/South Gulfway on Monday.
Authorities report that 28-year-old Cesar Rojas of Baytown was driving a white van involved in the collision. Rojas and three passengers—Emmanuel Reynosa Rivas, 27; Angel Dominguez, 28; and Osvaldo Alvarez, 27—were pronounced deceased at the scene.
Several others sustained injuries in the crash, with multiple victims airlifted by Lifeflight helicopters to area hospitals, including Memorial Hermann in Houston and Christus St. Elizabeth. Witnesses described the scene as chaotic, with emergency responders working quickly to provide care and secure the area.
The circumstances leading to the collision are still under active investigation by the Texas Department of Public Safety. Authorities have not released further details at this time.
