A tragic single-vehicle crash along Louisiana Interstate 49 claimed the life of Felisha Roe, a 40-year-old woman from Palestine, during the early morning hours of May 21, 2026.

According to investigators with Louisiana State Police, troopers responded shortly before 3:00 a.m. to the northbound lanes of I-49 just north of Natchitoches after receiving reports of a rollover crash involving a single vehicle.

Preliminary findings indicate Roe was driving a 2026 Nissan northbound when the vehicle reportedly lost control for reasons that remain under investigation. Authorities say the vehicle traveled off the roadway, left the pavement, and overturned beside the interstate.

Emergency responders arrived to find the vehicle heavily damaged from the rollover. Investigators confirmed that Roe suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Officials also stated she was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

As part of standard procedure, toxicology samples were collected for analysis while troopers continue working to determine what factors may have contributed to the loss of control. Authorities have not yet released additional details regarding the exact cause of the crash.

The incident prompted an early-morning emergency response and temporarily slowed traffic in the area while crews secured the scene and gathered evidence. The crash remains under active investigation by Louisiana State Police.

As news of the tragedy spreads, family members, friends, and loved ones are mourning the sudden loss of Felisha Roe and reflecting on a life cut tragically short.
