The Waterloo community is mourning the tragic death of Joshua Ehr following a fatal hit-and-run incident Wednesday night.

According to the Waterloo Police Department, officers responded to the 1000 block of San Marnan Access Drive after receiving reports of a man lying motionless in the roadway.

Police officers and firefighters provided emergency medical treatment at the scene before Ehr was transported to MercyOne Waterloo Medical Center, where he was later pronounced deceased.

Authorities identified the victim as 32-year-old Joshua Ehr of Waterloo.

Investigators say they currently do not have information regarding the vehicle involved in the incident. The crash remains under active investigation, and officials are urging anyone with information to contact the Waterloo Police Department or Cedar Valley Crime Stoppers.

Family, friends, and community members are now grieving the sudden loss as authorities continue searching for answers in the deadly hit-and-run case.
