The Baton Rouge community is mourning the tragic loss of Tyruan Dunn, a 15-year-old who was killed in a shooting Wednesday evening that also left another person critically injured.
According to the Baton Rouge Police Department, officers responded to reports of a shooting near the intersection of Wooddale Boulevard and Lobwood Drive around 5:30 p.m.
Investigators said Tyruan Dunn was found lying in the roadway suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency responders arrived at the scene, but Dunn was pronounced deceased there.
Police also confirmed that a second victim sustained life-threatening gunshot injuries and was transported to a hospital for emergency treatment. Authorities have not yet released additional details regarding the second victim’s condition or the circumstances leading up to the shooting.
The East Baton Rouge Parish Coroner’s Office later identified the deceased teen as Tyruan Dunn.
