According to the Lee’s Summit Police Department, emergency crews responded around 6:04 p.m. to the intersection of the northwest Interstate 470 eastbound exit ramp and Pryor Road after reports of a serious two-vehicle collision.

Investigators said Strickland was operating a motorcycle eastbound on the I-470 exit ramp when the motorcycle struck the rear of a truck traveling in the same direction. Authorities described the collision as severe, leaving the motorcyclist with life-threatening injuries.
