The Benton, Kentucky, community is mourning the sudden loss of Kevin Charles Driver, age 51, who passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, May 16, 2026. Kevin’s passing has left family, friends, students, and the broader community heartbroken, as they remember him as a devoted husband, father, educator, coach, and friend whose life was defined by love, service, and inspiration.
Born on April 7, 1975, in Murray, Kentucky, Kevin was the cherished son of Ronald and Kathi Driver and the beloved baby brother of twin sisters, Roni and Kristi. From an early age, Kevin’s passion for sports, education, and helping others was evident, laying the foundation for a lifetime dedicated to positively impacting the lives of those around him.
Kevin met his wife, Chrissy, in 1997 while attending Murray State University. Their bond grew strong, and they married on September 21, 2001, celebrating 24 years of love and partnership. Together, they built a joyful family filled with laughter, love, and shared memories. Kevin adored his four children—sons Kaden, Jace, and Cameron, and daughter Nevaeh—and his devotion to them was evident in every aspect of his life.
As an educator and coach, Kevin left an indelible mark on countless students. He earned his master’s degree in special education and taught at Marshall County High School, where his passion for teaching and mentorship inspired both students and colleagues. Beginning his coaching career at South Marshall Middle School in 1996, Kevin later served as middle school and freshman baseball coach at Marshall County High School. Known for treating every player as his own, he instilled confidence, discipline, and resilience in all he mentored, shaping the lives of young athletes in meaningful ways.
Kevin’s dedication to sports extended beyond coaching. He officiated Division I men’s basketball for the NCAA, lending his expertise to games across multiple conferences, including the Missouri Valley, Ohio Valley, ASUN, Southern, and Sun Belt Conferences. His integrity, professionalism, and passion earned him the respect of players, coaches, and fans alike.
Kevin was widely admired for his warmth, loyalty, and generosity, traits that made him a cornerstone of the Benton community. His legacy lives on through his family, students, players, and all those who were fortunate to know him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Chrissy, their children Kaden, Jace, Cameron, and Nevaeh; his parents, Ronald and Kathi Driver; his sisters, Roni and Kristi; as well as in-laws, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and father-in-law.
A funeral service to honor Kevin’s remarkable life will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 22, 2026, at Benton Church of Christ, with interment following at Pace Cemetery in Hardin, Kentucky. Visitation will take place from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at Benton Church of Christ.
